Hemingway Parents Auxiliary

The Hemingway Parents Auxiliary (PA) is a volunteer, parent-run nonprofit dedicated to supporting the staff and students of Hemingway STEAM School while building a strong sense of school community and pride.

How We Do It

The Hemingway PA is entirely driven by fundraising and charitable giving. As a registered 501(c)(3), all funds are directed back to Hemingway STEAM School, benefiting educational and recreational programs, technology upgrades, and facility improvements.

Each year, we host one major fundraising event—either the Fall Fundraiser or the Spring Fling. In addition, we raise funds throughout the year through merchandise sales, raffles, and by organizing Teacher Wish Lists and Fund A Need initiatives.

Our Goals (2024-2025)

Every year brings new opportunities and funding challenges. We focus our efforts around three key areas:

  • Community: Building and strengthening the Hemingway STEAM School community, of students, parents, teachers, and alumni, to foster participation and growth, creating a supportive environment for our children’s education.
  • Growth: Helping the Middle School develop its own student identity by ensuring our resources and social opportunities grow alongside our students. We aim to create a community that continues to thrive as students progress beyond primary education.
  • Support: Our teachers are the heart of the school. We are committed to supporting their needs, from professional development to classroom resources, so they can continue to support our students.

A few of the things we do:

Parent Engagement

Organize Hemingway parent meetings throughout the school year.

Teacher Support

Provide grant funds to faculty members for approved activities and equipment and supplementing out-of-pocket expenses through the purchase of additional school supplies.

Tech and Art Resources

Meet the needs for STEAM and technology requests by providing school software and public performance licenses that are not funded by the district.

Make Connections

Create, update, and manage the online Hemingway student and family directory to help keep our community connected.

Community Events

Produce and support various events throughout the year including:

  • Back to School Bash
  • Wagons Ho! (a favorite 4th grade event)
  • Grandparents & Special Friends Day
  • Skate Night
  • Middle School dances
  • 5th and 8th Grade Graduation Ceremonies

Our Board & Volunteers
